bedbugsWhether you’re traveling for business or taking a family vacation, the last thing you want to worry about is a bed bug infestation! Bed bugs prefer to live anywhere where large numbers of people sleep, and you’re as likely to encounter them at an upscale hotel as you will be if you choose bargain-priced accommodations. But they’re no match for smart travelers who take a few easy precautions, and our team of pest control experts at The Bug Man is always a phone call away if you need to schedule bed bug treatment or if you have any questions about bed bug prevention.

We’ve been Arkansas’ most trusted pest control company since 1976 and are proud to offer no-contract pest control throughout central Arkansas. We’re also proud to serve homeowners in Benton, Conway, Searcy, Hot Springs, and Pine Bluff communities. Bed Bugs are tiny insects approximately ⅛” in size that feed on human and animal blood, and they can survive for weeks without food and water. They’re difficult to detect and get rid of, which is why it’s so important to ensure you don’t bring any home with you when you travel. Here are a few easy tips:

Check-In-Pull back the corners of the bedding and linens to look for evidence of bed bug activity. You probably won’t spot any bugs, but if you see bloodstains, ask for a different room or seek alternate accommodations.

During your stay-Bed bugs are great hiders that are notorious for hiding in luggage, but they’re poor climbers. Most hotel rooms provide a luggage rack for your suitcase, and you should hang up dirty clothing in a laundry bag. Check the corners of your luggage to ensure you don’t have any stowaways before you pack up.

After you return home-Wash everything you took with you in the hottest water possible as soon as you get home, whether you wore it or not. Be sure to also take one more look in the corners of your suitcases for stowaways one more time before you put them away.
