There are close to 1,000 species of ants in America, and they’re a familiar sight to Arkansas Homeowners who “miss a spot” when they’re cleaning up the kitchen or allow dishes to pile up in the sink. Ants can eat virtually anything and are small enough to hide just about anywhere. But you can always count on our team at The Bug Man when you need to send ants or other household pests packing!

We’ve been Akansas’ pest control leader since 1976, and we offer no-contract pest control services in Little Rock at great rates. We also provide pest control services in Benton, Cabot, Conway, and other communities throughout central Arkansas. Give us a call if you have an ant infestation, and we’ll be there right away. Here are some easy things you can do on your own to stop ant infestations before they start:

Clean your kitchen thoroughly-Ants are fondest of sweets, but they can eat almost anything. When they find a food source, they’ll leave a pheromone trail to mark its location and you’ll have a long line of ants in no time! Deep cleaning your kitchen eliminates potential food sources, and household detergents and soaps will cover up their trail. Vinegar is a very effective cleaner, and you should keep some in a spray bottle near your sink for quick clean-up.

Follow Ant Trails to Their Source-No homeowner likes spotting an ant trail in their kitchen, but a little detective work helps you see where they’re coming from and take corrective action. Ants need moisture to survive, so check under your sink. A tube of siliconized caulk is a cheap and effective way to seal off potential access points.

Use Store-Bought Baits and Traps-Store-bought baits are designed to stick to ants so they can carry the poison back to their colony. Most baits are safe around children and pets, but you can also mix a few drops of peppermint, eucalyptus or tea tree oil of water in a spray bottle. Most essential oils are natural ant repellants, and they’ll make your home smell great!
