Your home is a lot like an all-you-can-eat buffet for termites, and your only chance to keep them away is to go on the offensive. Unfortunately, most homeowners don’t have the training and experience to spot termite activity until it’s too late! You might occasionally spot mounds or “mud tubes” on the side of your home, but most of the time the termites are a bit more devious. In fact many homeowners don’t find out that they have a termite infestation until they have to pay thousands of dollars to repair structural damage. Each year, termites cause more damage to homes than fires, floods, tornadoes, and earthquakes combined!

Our team at The Bug Man has been helping homeowners in Arkansas keep the pests away for over four decades, and we’re always a phone call away when you want to schedule your annual termite inspection. Our team of technicians has the training and experience that you need to spot termite activity early. We’ll have a good look around to make sure that your home is structurally sound, and you’ll be protected for the entire year. We’re also a phone call away any time that you have any questions.

Many of our customers ask us about things they can do on their own, and we’re always happy to make specific recommendations. The main things to look out for are any areas in your yard with standing water or moisture problems. Many insects like to lay their eggs in stagnant water, so be sure to empty your pet water bowls and kiddie pools after use. If you have a koi pond or an outdoor water feature, be sure that the water is circulating at all times.

Be sure to keep up with your yard work, and prune back any shrubs or tree branches that come into direct contact with your roof or your home. Inspect your eaves, soffits, and fascia for any water damage or rotten wood. In addition to being unsightly, it can create access points for termites and rodents. Patch up and paint those areas right away before they get more expensive!
