Mosquitoes have been around longer than humans, and today’s mosquitoes aren’t much different than the insects that once feasted on the blood of the dinosaurs. The good news is that we’ve developed the technology to combat insect infestations, and we don’t have to hide from them anymore! There’s no doubt that mosquitoes have amazing longevity, but our team at The Bug Man is here to make sure that you have an edge! We offer monthly mosquito treatment services every year from April through October, and our plans start at $75 a month for an average-sized yard.

The best defense against any insect infestation is a good offense, and there are plenty of things that you can do on your own. These are all easy, low-tech solutions that will make a big difference at a very low cost. Give these ideas a try in your backyard, and give us a call to schedule an appointment for your first treatment at any time!

Eliminate standing water-Mosquitoes lay their eggs in stagnant water, so be sure to empty pet water dishes and kiddie pools after use. If you have a birdbath, change the water frequently. Be sure to cover rain barrels and deal with any drainage problems in your yard.

Buy plants with insect-repellent properties-Tiki torches and citronella candles can create ambiance in your yard and keep the mosquitoes away. You can also plant some citronella and mint in your garden.

Use mosquito nets and outdoor fans-A screened-in porch is always great to have in Arkansas, and the next best thing is to hang up some mosquito netting in your yard. Mosquitoes aren’t very good flyers, and an outdoor fan is a great way to keep them away and cool off at the same time!

Use natural remedies-There are a lot of easy and inexpensive ways to keep mosquitoes away using common ingredients in your home. Cut some lemons in half and add a few cloves to keep the bugs at bay, or add some eucalyptus oil to a bowl of water. You can also add some minced garlic to a bottle of water to make a spray that will keep away mosquitoes, ticks, and other insects.
