After a grueling Arkansas summer of triple digit temperatures and 90% humidity, we’ve all earned a few great weeks of mild, crisp weather before we start complaining about the ice storms and sleet. The trees are showing their fall color, and this is one of the best times of the year to fire up the grill in the backyard, and let your daughter show you her curveball. Unfortunately, there are still plenty of mosquitoes standing by to crash your party!

When it comes to mosquitoes, treatment is a lot easier than you think if you’re proactive, and our team at The Bug Man is always a phone call away when you need help! No two homes are quite alike, and we strongly suggest scheduling an onsite visit so that we can make specific recommendations. But we also offer the following suggestions that you can follow right away:

Eliminate their habitats and breeding sites-Mosquitoes lay their eggs in stagnant water, so it’s important to make sure that you’re not rolling out the welcome mat for them. Empty your pet food dishes between feedings, keep your rain barrels covered, and spread gravel in any areas where rain accumulates in your yard.

Use Outdoor Fans-Mosquitoes aren’t active when the winds exceed 10 MPH, and an outdoor fan is an easy low-tech solution to keep them away. Household fans can also be an effective solution, but be sure not to leave them outdoors when you go inside for the night.

Invest in a mosquito treatment plan-For the ultimate peace of mind, we also offer affordable mosquito treatment plans. An average-sized yard can be treated for as little as $75 a month, and we also offer one-time treatment plans.
