Our homes are very important places for all of us. They’re where we spend most of our lives relaxing and developing great new memories with our families. We also enjoy hosting relatives and friends from time to time. Unfortunately, there are a lot of furry creatures such as squirrels, raccoons, and opossum who are also interested in taking advantage of your hospitality, particularly when it’s cold outside.
Since 1976, The Bug Man has been Arkansas’ leading provider of pest removal services. But did you know that we also offer humane animal removal services? If you find evidence of wildlife activity in your attic or crawlspace, give us a call, and we’ll be there right away to send your unwanted guests packing. We also offer a few pointers to reduce your likelihood of a wildlife infestation in your home:
Don’t store your trash too close to your home-Most homes are provided large trash bins by the local waste removal service, and the lids are too heavy to be lifted by small animals. But even if they can’t get in, if you store trash right next to your home, their next stop might be your crawlspace.
Trim vegetation-Heavy bushes and shrubs provide habitat for a lot of creatures, so keep them trimmed and maintained, particularly if they’re near your home. Be sure to also cut any tree branches that come in direct contact with your home.
Look for access points-If your home has a crawlspace, be sure that the door is securely fastened at all times. Be sure to also inspect your roofline and look for water damage to your eaves, soffits, and fascia. You’d be amazed at how easily unwanted wildlife can fit through the smallest holes, so be sure to get any rotten wood replaced right away.
