We all love living in The Natural State. The people are nice, the scenery is breathtaking, and the food is out of this world. There’s nothing quite like rolling out the old picnic blanket and enjoying a nice meal in one of our many great parks. On the days when we don’t get to go to the park, we do our best to create great experiences in our back yards. We can never quite be sure if the kids are having a good time, but the mosquitoes all seem to be having a blast!

When it comes to mosquitoes, treatment in advance is most effective. Like all infestations, if they can be stopped before they start, they’re less likely to reoccur. That’s why The Bug Man is happy to provide monthly mosquito treatment plans that start at $75 a month for an average sized yard. Our team of pest control experts will perform routine maintenance on your yard, and follow-up visits as needed to send them packing. We also recommend following a few easy steps on your own:

Eliminate outdoor habitats and food sources-One of the best defenses against pests is to stay on top of your yard work. Mow your lawn, trim your hedges, and prune back any tree limbs that are in direct contact with your roof. Mosquitoes lay their eggs in stagnant water, so be sure to empty kiddie pools and pet food dishes after use, and use circulating water in any outdoor water features.

Plant Proactively-Did you know that certain flowers and herbs repel insects? Mint, Marigolds, Onions, and Citronella have natural repellent properties, and also attract dragonflies, which are harmless to humans, but natural mosquito predators.

Use low-tech solutions-A screened in porch is one of the most effective solutions, and can also increase the resale value of your home. They also make temporary screens that are available at sporting goods retailers. Mosquitoes are not great flyers, and outdoor fans can also be effective at keeping them away.
