We’re just a few short weeks away from the holiday season, and many families look forward to welcoming relatives and friends into their homes to catch up and spread a little holiday cheer. However, preparing for visitors can be stressful for many homeowners, and the last thing you want is an infestation of “uninvited guests.” But our team at The Bug Man has been offering trusted pest control in Little Rock for over 48 years, and we’re here to keep your home pest-free this holiday season!

Although insects are less active during the winter months, this is the time of year when they begin seeking refuge from the cold. We’re just a phone call away if you encounter ants, spiders, cockroaches, or rodents in your home, attic, or crawl space, and there are several easy preventative measures you can take on your own to stop infestations before they start!

Keep your kitchen clean. Pests enter homes seeking food sources, and once they find one, the news travels fast! Sometimes, all it takes to attract a seemingly endless line of ants is a few crumbs on the counter or a sticky spot you neglected to wipe up, so be sure to clean up thoroughly after every meal. Don’t let dishes pile up in the sink, and take out the trash daily, whether the bag is full or not!

Clean up the yard. Once pests find a convenient outdoor habitat, it won’t be long before they begin seeking more desirable accommodations indoors. Be sure to clean your gutters and downspouts and store firewood off the ground and at least 20 feet away from your home.

Seal up access points. We sell brush sweep door seals that form a tight seal under thresholds to keep out rodents and other pests, and they only take minutes to install. Be sure to also replace and repaint any rotten exterior wood you find on your home and seal up any openings where pipes or wires enter your home with clear siliconized caulk.

If you have any questions about pest proofing your home or would like to schedule service, contact us online or at 501-663-9464. We also proudly offer annual termite inspections and no-contract pest control in the communities of Benton, Conway, Hot Springs, Pine Bluff, and Searcy.
