What repellents work best? Be sure to use bug spray with at least 10–30% DEET for maximum effectiveness, and reapply as frequently as recommended on the product labeling. Tiki torches and citronella candles can also make a big difference, and they add a lot of ambiance to any nighttime gathering!

Can I keep bugs away without pesticides? Most outdoor retailers sell mosquito netting or fully enclosed canopies, which are always nice to have if you spend a lot of time outside in the summer.
