Despite our best efforts to keep our homes spotlessly clean, ants, cockroaches, and other household pests are particularly active during the summertime. The best defense against cockroaches is a good offense, and our team at The Bug Man is always just a phone call or a mouse click away. We’ve proudly offered quality, no-contract pest control services in Little Rock since 1976, and we’re ready to help you enjoy a pest-free home all year long!

We all want to live in clean, comfortable, and pest-free homes, and it’s frustrating to see cockroaches scurry away after switching on the lights in your kitchen or to discover a lengthy trail of ants attacking a spot you missed while wiping down your countertops. Roaches and ants move quickly, and they can be relentless, but they’re no match for homeowners who take a few easy precautions.

Cockroaches and ants are constantly in pursuit of habitat and food sources, and deep cleaning your kitchen is a good way to eliminate them both simultaneously. Don’t store fresh fruit on your countertops, and store non-refrigerated food such as bread, flour, and spices in sealed, airtight containers. Be sure to deep clean your kitchen at least once a week and wipe down your sink and countertops thoroughly after every meal. Take out the trash every night, even if the receptacle isn’t completely full.

Cockroaches like dark and moist places, and sealing small leaks with clear siliconized caulk only takes a few minutes. You should also call a plumber right away if you see any water damage under your sink or have a leaky faucet. You should also periodically organize and declutter your cabinets and pantry and resist the temptation to stockpile leftover paper grocery bags you don’t intend to use immediately.

Baits and traps can be purchased almost anywhere, and they can be an effective short-term solution for a small infestation. Be sure to read all the product labeling before purchase and use, and replace as frequently as recommended for maximum effectiveness.
