Mosquitoes and other flying insects love hot and humid conditions, and they feel right at home here in The Natural State! They can certainly be a nuisance when we enjoy our favorite outdoor activities, and they also attack us where we live! But it’s your home and your yard, and if you don’t feel like sharing it with any “uninvited guests” this summer, our team at The Bug Man is here to help!
We’ve offered trusted pest control in Little Rock for over 49 years and also proudly serve homeowners in Faulkner, Garland, Grant, Saline, and White Counties! We’re a phone call away when you’re ready to schedule an annual termite inspection, and we also offer mosquito treatment services annually from April through October. Our monthly plans start at $90 for an average-sized yard, and we also offer single-visit treatments if you’re planning an outdoor wedding or church picnic. It’s always important to be proactive when it comes to pest control, and there are a few easy things you can do on your own to keep the mosquitoes away this summer:
Eliminate insect habitats and breeding grounds. Keeping your lawn mowed ensures that insects and other pests have no place to hide! You should also prune your hedges and any other yard vegetation that comes into direct contact with your home or roof. Mosquitos lay their eggs in stagnant water, so be sure to always keep your rain gutters and downspouts clear and unobstructed, and empty pet water dishes after use.
Add some insect-repellent plants to your garden. Marigolds are a great way to add a pop of color to your flowerbed, and they also attract dragonflies, which prey on mosquitoes and are completely harmless to humans. An herb garden is a must if you’re interested in taking your cooking to the next level, and mosquitoes can’t stand the smell of basil, lavender, mint, and rosemary!
Use low-tech pest control solutions. If you don’t already have a screened-in porch, you can purchase inexpensive mosquito netting and canopies at any outdoor goods retailer. Mosquitoes are also poor flyers, and an outdoor fan will help keep them away while keeping you cool at the same time!
