Whether you’re an amateur chef or you microwave every meal, there’s no such thing as a kitchen that’s too clean! No one wants to eat food prepared in a dirty kitchen, and you certainly don’t want to operate an all-you-can-eat buffet for ants and other pests. But sometimes, even that’s not enough, and our team at The Bug Man is here to help you keep your kitchen and home pest-free this summer!

We’ve been Arkansas’ pest control leader since 1976, and our experienced professionals all share our commitment to legendary service. We offer no co-contract pest control services throughout central Arkansas and proudly serve homeowners in Benton, Cabot, Conway, Pine Bluff, and Searcy. We’re always a phone call or a mouse click away when you’re ready to get rid of ants, rodents, and other household pests for good, and we stand behind every service appointment with a 100% satisfaction guarantee! The best defense against household pests is a good offense, and these easy tips will help you keep your kitchen pest-free this summer!

Eliminate food sources-You should always “clean as you go” when preparing meals, which includes loading the dishwasher, wiping down countertops, and sweeping the floors. Leaving your pets’ water dish out overnight is okay, but you should pick up and wipe down their food bowls after every feeding. Be sure to take out the trash every day (even if the bag isn’t completely full) and deep clean your kitchen at least weekly.

Eliminate access points-One of the most common ways that ants and roaches access your kitchen is under the sink, so you should confirm that your drain pipes are completely sealed and touch up any gaps with siliconized caulk. If you see any rotten or water-damaged wood, contact a plumber to investigate the source of the leaks and replace the damaged wood immediately.

Use baits and traps-Glue traps are safe to use around children and pets, and they can be highly effective if used properly. Be sure to carefully read and follow all of the instructions on the packaging before placing the traps, and replace them at least every three months for maximum effectiveness.
