This is also a good time to plant marigolds, citronella, and garlic, all of which have natural insect repellent properties.
2. Eliminate standing water sources-Insects love to lay eggs in stagnant water, so be sure to empty pet food dishes after feeding, and address any drainage issues near your home.
3. Chemical treatments-Insecticides are an important part of a treatment plan, but it often takes multiple treatments to see results due to surviving offspring. Repellents can be far more effective if used properly, and they’ll let your uninvited guests know that they’re not welcome.
