Whether it’s a picnic, a cookout, or simply watching your children play, the last thing you want to have to deal with is an infestation of mosquitoes and other pests. The good news is that our Team at The Bug Man is always a phone call or a mouse click away! We’ve been helping Arkansas homeowners since 1976, and We offer monthly mosquito treatment plans from April to October each year.

Our mosquito treatment plans start out at $75 per month for an average-sized yard, and they include monthly treatment and follow-up visits as needed. We also offer one-time treatment plans if you need to prepare your yard or your church for a special outdoor event. Give us a call, and we’ll be there right away to get started. There are also a few easy things that you can do on your own to keep the bugs away this summer:

Eliminate Habitats-Mosquitoes like to lay their eggs in stagnant water, so be sure to drain pet food dishes and kiddie pools after use. If you have a bird bath or an outdoor water feature, be sure that the water is circulating. Other trouble areas include lawns, shrubs, and bushes. Keep your lawn mowed, and prune your hedges.

Use Natural Repellents-If you like using tiki torches in your yard, be sure to keep the open flames away from children and pets. You can also plant citronella in your garden and take advantage of its repellent properties. Other plants and herbs such as marigolds, mint, and garlic are good at keeping mosquitoes away, and sometimes they even attract dragonflies. Dragonflies are our friends, because they are mosquito predators!

Low Tech Solutions-If you’re sensitive to chemicals, an outdoor fan does a great job of keeping the insects away and keeping you cool in the process. Screened-in porches are always a nice thing to have, but not very common in most of our homes. They’re a somewhat inexpensive home improvement, or you can just pick up a portable canopy at any sporting goods store or outdoor retailer and set it up when you need it!
