No matter how hard you work to maintain an immaculately clean kitchen, numerous household pests work just as hard to find places to live, eat, and breed. But they’re not picky. They don’t mind cramped accommodations, and they’re perfectly content to eat what you and your family (and pets) don’t. If you’ve recently seen cockroaches scurry away after turning on your kitchen lights, you’re in good company! Arkansas is home to numerous cockroach species, including the brown-banded, German, oriental, and smoky brown cockroach, and the one thing they all have in common is their determination to invade your home. If you don’t feel like sharing your home with cockroaches and other household pests, our team at The Bug Man is always just a phone call away!

We’re proud to offer no-contract pest control and bug spraying services in Little Rock and have proudly served central Arkansas since 1976. We offer mosquito treatment services from April through October and annual termite inspections all year long. Cockroaches, ants, and other pests are no match for our team of professional pest control experts, and we’re always happy to help. There are also numerous things you can do on your own to keep cockroaches and other pests out of your home and kitchen.

For starters, don’t let dishes pile up in the sink, and take out the trash every day. Wipe down your countertops and food prep areas before and after every meal, and clean behind your refrigerator and other appliances at least once a month. You’ll also want to seal off any potential access points around your sink drainpipe with clear siliconized caulk; if you see any water damage or wood rot under your sink, be sure to contact a plumber to investigate the leak and replace and repaint the damaged wood after the work is completed.

Most baits and glue traps are safe to use around children and pets, but be sure to read all the information on the packaging before use. If you prefer a more natural alternative, fill a spray bottle with water and add a few drops of your favorite essential oil, such as lavender, cedar, or peppermint, for quick cleanup after meals.
