Your home is the most important thing you own, and it’s the place you look forward to returning to at the end of a hard day at the office! Unfortunately, there are plenty of termites out there that would love nothing more than to sink their tiny little teeth into it! Termites cause more structural damage yearly than fires, floods, and tornadoes combined, and you’re unlikely to even know they’re there until it’s too late. But our team of pest control experts at The Bug Man is here to help, and we’re a phone call away when you’re ready to schedule an annual termite inspection!

We’ve been providing trusted pest control in Little Rock for 49 years and counting, and we’re ready to help you enjoy year-round peace of mind. An in-home termite inspection typically takes less than an hour, and our experienced and well-trained technicians will inspect your home from top to bottom for evidence of termite activity. There are also a few easy ways to discourage future termite activity and keep your home pest-free all year long!

Mow your lawn and prune your yard vegetation—Termites and other pests love unkempt lawns because it gives them a convenient place to hide before they attempt to access your home. Large overhanging tree branches offer convenient transportation for pests to access your roof, and you should also carefully prune any hedges or shrubs that come into direct contact with your home.

Repair damaged exterior wood—It takes a trained eye to spot termite activity, but if you ever spot “mud tubes” spiderwebbing on exterior walls, you should contact us immediately. You’ll also want to inspect your home’s exterior periodically for water damage and wood rot. After the repairs are completed, repaint the fresh wood immediately with a durable, weather-resistant exterior paint.

Eliminate potential food sources—Leaving pet food outside is a good way to attract rodents and other pests, and backyard bird feeders will likely attract plenty of squirrels. You’ll also want to remove dead trees, stumps, and other wood debris from your yard before the termites can find them, and store your firewood off the ground at least 20 feet away from the house.
