Arkansas is known as The Natural State for many great reasons. No matter where we live, we’re minutes away from some of the world’s best hiking, camping, and fishing, and we’re also one of the most geographically diverse states in the nation. But nature should end where our homes begin, and our team at The Bug Man has offered trusted pest control in Little Rock for over 47 years, and we’re always a phone call away to take care of your pest control needs. We also offer mosquito treatment services each year from April through October, so you can enjoy backyard activities all summer long without any uninvited guests crashing the party!

Our monthly mosquito treatment plans start at $85 for an average-sized yard, and we also offer single-visit treatment plans if you’re preparing for a special outdoor event. Our team of pest control experts will keep your yard properly serviced all summer long, and we’ll be there right away if you encounter any mosquito activity between your scheduled service appointments. There are also several easy things you can do on your own to keep your yard pest-free all year long:

Eliminate breeding sites-Keeping the lawn mowed and hedges trimmed is one of the most effective things you can do as a homeowner to reduce potential insect habitat and breeding grounds. Mosquitos lay their eggs in stagnant water, so be sure to keep your gutters clean and deal with any areas in your yard where rainwater regularly accumulates. Be sure to also keep your outdoor trash cans and rain barrels covered at all times.

Minimize artificial light-Yellow LED lights are less attractive to mosquitoes, and motion-activated or timed lighting reduces the amount of time the lights stay on when they’re no longer needed.

Use Repellents-Citronella torches and candles are a time-honored way to add ambiance to an outdoor cookout while keeping mosquitoes and other flying insects away. There are also several plants, such as lavender, lemongrass, and marigolds, that have mosquito-repellent properties and offer a nice splash of color to any garden. And there’s no better way to take your cooking to the next level than with a steady supply of fresh basil, fennel, mint, and rosemary!
